The Scourge is the infectious disease that plagues the bodies of these particular vampires. Where there is water in the normal mortal body, the Scourge has replaced it. It is a black, glittering substance that can be tamed by the vampire, though if left alone and unfed it grows a mind of its own and turns its back on its host. As with all vampires, Scourgelings gain power and abilities with time.
Since the Scourge is a disease, it CAN be cleansed. However, there is only one way to remove the Scourge from a body that still preserves the life and wellbeing of the vampire. This is by attaining the aid of a Mythpreistess. Mythpreistesses live in alternate worlds and can take any form. (This means they aren't limited to being xweetoks; once again, they live in alternate worlds but can be summoned if the conditions and rituals are right. I'd assume they'd take on a xweetok form if they were summoned to this land, however.) There are only five at any given time: The Mythpreistesses of the Sea, the Wood, the Mountain, the Sky, and the Glacier. Each is a mythologic creature of legend trapped in an earthly body in an attempt to preserve nature, and all command a supreme power over natural magic. The Mythpreistess of the Sea is a mermaid, the Wood a faerie, the Mountain a dragon, the Sky a phoenix, and the Glacier a snow lion.
The conditions for summoning the Mythpreistesses are currently unknown. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
The Family is both a name for those who actually had children and those who were bitten by these vampires. The vampire generations work like they do on Wajas. If a first generation mated with a fourth generation, the resulting kits would be fifth generation.

The first generation consists of, only Cyrene, the current matriarch of the Scourgeling family, until her parent-vampire and one-time forced mate Etern chooses to infect another being. The Original is not counted among the first generation. The only way to become a First Generation vampire is to be born by two Originals or be bitten by an Original. First Generations are 10% sterile and outclass all other vampires in lower generations in terms of potential. First Generations who were born rather than bitten have slightly more potential.

Second Generation vampires are 20% sterile. The only way to become a Second Generation is to be born by a First Generation and any generation lower than that or be bitten by a First Gen. Like with the First Gens, those who are born have more potential than those who are bitten. All Second Gens have less potential than First Gens and Originals, but more than any Gen with a higher number.

Third Gens are 30% sterile. They have more potential than any vampires of higher-numbered generations, but are still outclassed by the lower numbers.

The Originals are vampires whose pure, natural beings were twisted by the very gods themselves into becoming the eternally diseased that they are today. They are 0% sterile and will always outclass other vampires in terms of potential, whether they achieve it or not.

Basically, the only way to become a Scourgeling vampire is to roleplay or interact with any of the xweetoks listed above. To become a First Generation, you'll need to ask and roleplay with Pyro. To become an Original, you'll need to contact Pyro (possibly Lyra) and apply. It will involve plotting, considering the only way to become an Original is to be turned into one by a god.
